Italy 2025
2500 km trip in July and August 2025
E-motorbike Roadtrip to Energica Motorcycles in Modena across the Alps
From Nuremberg through the Black Forest, across Switzerland and over the Gotthard Pass, all the way to Italy. Another adventure began on the return journey: From Rimini via Venice and Udine, we headed for the Austrian Alps

Hotels under 40€ with a view of the Black Forest, breakfast and full charging. Yes, it still exists. Golden Raven in Furtwangen

Driving through the Black Forest is simply fun. Incidentally, the name comes from the Romans. They found the forest too dark and gloomy ^^

Excuse me? 40 Swiss francs because I don’t have a parking ticket at the charging station ! Thank you, Canton of Uri and City of Altdorf. I will not be staying here overnight anymore.

A surprise. I hadn’t been to the Gotthard Pass in a long time. On my last visit, there was no wind power yet. Like

Reaching the charging stations with 1% I love it ;( Three charging stations were previously out of order. Even two ladies from an ice cream shop offered to provide me with electricity. Italians are so helpful!

Don Camillo and Peppone, I knew this was set in the Po Valley. I googled it. Bingo, Brescello, a small town just 20 kilometers from Modena. Must see 🙂

The gate was open, so I went straight to the charging station and plugged in my motorcycle. There were no hard-working employees to be seen. So, I took a little tour at Energica.

After 30 minutes, Massimo arrived. He started by giving me a warning and was angry about what I was doing at Energica. 😡 When he saw that I have an Energica, had come all the way from Germany, and had given him a bunch of Energica patches, he was very nice and open-minded.

Mitrij & Matjaž from Slovenia were my roommates at the hostel. They had just returned from their trip to Monaco. Thank you for the beer and the fun times with you guys.

When I was driving through Forlimpopoli, I passed this restaurant. Un po‘ di Germania Bistrò, good German cuisine. The owner has been living in Italy for 30 years.

The southernmost destination of my tour was Rimini. No, not because of the beaches… but because I wanted to visit Retrokit.

Hey guys, thx for the test drive. As a former Vespa rider who has owned almost every model, it was great fun.

I was sitting on this folding chair, busy with my smartphone, and didn’t notice my jacket behind me. In the end, all my money was stolen. My wallet was emptied on the street… My papers and passport were still there. Thanks, you fucking thieves.

Back in the mountains again. It’s getting a little cooler again 😉 and the first mountain passes are coming up. Here is the Plöcken Pass on the border with Austria.

Another night at the campsite in Heiligenblut. Secretly loaded my motorcycle there 🙂 – covered it with a sleeping bag so you couldn’t hear the fan ^^

I have driven over many mountain passes on my motorcycle. But the Grossglockner is truly spectacular. By the way, it’s cheaper for electric motorcycles. Eco ticket 20€ Normal ones 25€ ^^
