You’re always a little tense in the first few days of a trip like this. Can I do that? Will my machine stop? It takes a while for a positiv rocknroll 😉
Thanks to my automobile club BAVC who sent me great documents free of charge.
My Energica dealer sends all the data to Italy. Answer: All lithium cells work perfectly. Thx to Richter & Zech
I wanted to visit my parents before heading north. Small detour through the beautiful Neckartal to Heidelberg.
I like hotels with a small canopy and a power outlet.
How do you recognize a good rest house hotel? When they ask you if you need electricity! Thx Rasthaus Schackendorf Team.
How do you cope with all these loading pauses? Very simple: with an egg roll, tomatoes, sausages and a good drink.
I still had an old set of fuses from my Zero, but discovered that Energica has smaller models. Since Energica in Celle Lower Saxony was right on my way, I got some straight there. Thank you Conny and team for the help and the coffee
I’m glad that I bought new and good rain pants before the trip. I will need them!
The nice and curious Danes arrive just over the border in Denmark. Henrick, fine guy who lived in Greenland for a long time. cool
There aren’t really many Energica motorcycles in Europe. But meeting an Energica Experia biker from the Netherlands in the middle of Denmark is amazing. He’s going to Norway with his buddy, so I was able to give him tips for loading apps and an ACDC biker patch! Have a safe journey
Hirtshals DK. Air pressure checked, charged to 100% and looked where the ferry departs. Tomorrow we will set the sail.
Certainly over 100 bikers. But they only need as much space in the belly of the ship as 4 campers.
Sunset and a nightcap at the bar.
Actually just a ferry. But then sail through the Faroe Islands. Upgrade!
If Iceland welcomes a biker with such troll weather, you will be rewarded later. For sure .)
How nice the Icelanders are, they spend me a full charging. Takk fyrir 🙂
Lubines are a curse and a blessing for the island. An invasive plant that really proliferates, but also forms humus for other plants.
What a great view during the charging break.. Happy to enjoy this.
Chunks of ice from the Icelandic glacier giants flow into the open sea in the Jökulsa River. Even here is a fast charging station.
Directly at the charging station in Vik, this nice Dutchman greets me with his family. He too, Energica rider and member of the Dutch Energica Club. (Which, by the way, has more members as the Electric Motorcycle Club Germany).. I gave him a Energica Patch!
Skogafoss is already an impressive waterfall. Great trekking tours also starts from here.
Driving on the south coast of Iceland has its own special charms. A mixture of ice, water, rocks and large green. Just like here: black lava sand beaches on the left and green mountains on the right.
Visit the Geothermal Exhibition! located inside of the Hellisheiði Power Plant, the largest geothermal power plant in Iceland.
4 days break in Reykjavík. Explore the city and do some jobs & design. The customers also need me 🙂 By the way, a top hostel for us e-bikers with free charging – Dalur – HI Eco Hostel & Cafe
Four years ago, I had already visited some museums in the city. If you want to learn something about the history of Iceland, you should go to the National Museum. Today it was the Design Museum.
This photo is a must. A landmark of the city. The Hallgrímskirkja.
Chain tensioned and lubricated. Brake fluid replaced and fit for the next ride. Safety first!
After a cold and rainy mountain pass, you will be rewarded with hot springs in the evening. Enjoy!
It can always be an advantage to take the CEE adapter with you.
Nice valley between Varmahlíð and Akureyri. No rain 🙂
A must visit for all bikers. Motorcycle Museum of Island in Akureyri. Just 100 meters away, the Museum of Industrial Culture. Highly recommended if you want to learn something about the city and the country that has nothing to do with the forces of nature. Both top 👍
I need to get used to the medium portions in Scandinavia. ^^
The Vaðlaheiðargöng are a road tunnel in northern Iceland, connecting Akureyri and Húsavík. I entered the tunnel at 12 degrees Celsius. After 3 kilometers, my display showed 30 degrees, and later at the end it was back to 12 degrees. Crazy!
The Geitafoss. Its name means „Waterfall of the Gods,“ as it is believed that idols of the old pagan gods were thrown into it when Iceland adopted Christianity in 1000 AD.
I will never forget moments like this. My Visa Card is not accepted by the charging station in Húsavík. A helpful Icelander wants to give me a full charge. After I had answered how long a charge takes, he said: Come on, I live next door and my wife will make us a coffee and appetizers during this charging break. Kiddi, a awesome Biker!.. he got a friendship patch & German Schnaps from me. Þúsund þakkir
The Ring Road 1 and some main roads in Iceland are really well signposted. The smaller country roads might be a bit more difficult. smile 😉
One of the northernmost charging points in Iceland. Kópasker,
Few houses, a small supermarket, fishermen, and 11 degrees Celsius.
Curious and friendly family fathers who were excited to see an electric motorcycle here.
Wherever you look. Big or very small. Everywhere you see how to deal with the forces of nature and produce great energy.
ON Energy Company. You are doing a great job in Iceland. As a German, I am green with envy! Additionally, I have never had any problems with your charging stations. Wonderful! BUT, how can you offer just one Type 2 station at such an important junction, FOSS bistro, Skjöldólfsstaðir, 701 Egilsstaðir. Two Teslas are also waiting … mmmh, you probably have a deal with the bistro.
PS They make a damn good hamburger!
I completed the circumnavigation. Wow… To all e-bikers, this should be a travel destination. Riding with energy that nature provides us. All Energica bikers with a 14 kWh battery. It is possible… but, pay attention to the wind, the temperatures, and the good weather report from www.umferdin.is
I had contact with these three Frenchmen during my ferry crossing. The only bikers on the ship who had a couple of spare tires on their motorcycle. It was nice to meet you again in Egilsstaðir.
I had a few more days in Egilsstaðir and two extra tours were on the plan. Once around mystic Lagarfljot Lake and a really nice tour to Bakkagerði. With a great pass road in the sunshine.
I have seen quite a few charging stations. But a DC fast charging station on wheels is top. Icelands 💪, seen @ Bakkagerði.
From today’s 150 km day trip from Egilsstaðir to Bakkagerði I discovered this damn nice wind-powered rest stop. All Kiddis (owner) seem to be cool guys.
Once again, look back. Thank you Iceland for everything and a damn nice experience. I’ll be back, with my love Ingrid.
Three weeks ago I drove exactly over the pass road of the Fjarðarheiði plateau. It was cold, foggy and it was raining. Today I had damn nice weather. Thank you trolls 🙂
The charming town of Seyðisfjörður has one of the best natural harbours in Iceland. In addition, the only car ferry that connects Iceland with the European mainland via the Faroe Islands and Denmark.
Now we are separated. Hirtshals or Faroe Islands. In the end, a Dutchman, a South African, four Catalans and I go on another rainy adventure.
Waiting for the ferry and greeting other Energica bikers. Have a save trip turbolaban from Norway.
The Faroe Islands are an autonomous archipelago belonging to the Danish crown. They also show their openness through such a parliament. Which is unique in the world!
Vestmanna, my first destination on these islands. A small, enchanting village. The meaning is west men (harbour).
Alone on small, beautiful routes. A dream for electric bikers.
With the website elbil.fo you can find all charging stations on the Faroe Islands and also start charging after you have loaded some money onto your account. A simple and good solution.
What a biker’s dream day. An idyll as if you were driving through calendar pages. Faroe Islands 2024
As in some Scandinavian countries, you always have to watch out for animals, especially sheep.
Við Gjógv is a village in the Faroe Islands on the north-east coast of Eysturoy. Gjógv is the Faroese word for ‚crevice‘. The place takes its name from the crevice in which a small natural harbour is located. Must see.
It’s nice to be woken up by the sun, the fresh air and a few sheep. So the day can start.
If you want to drive through the newly built tunnel system from Strendur to Tórshavn, you must first register on the tunnil.fo website. The only tunnel in the world with a ring road and mystical legends.
After a few days that were really worthwhile, back with Smyril Line. From Torshavn to Hirtshals.
The friendly electric technician from aral got the charging stations ready to go for me… He, a LiveWire Fan.
Over 30 wind turbines in one place. I have to praise the people from Saxony.
Leave the motorway at Ilmenau and head south through the Thuringian Forest. A super route with great opportunities for delicious breaks.
If someone is interested and wants to follow my tour? I wish you success 🙂 – the charging structure is everywhere present.
